Outdoor Scouting Course

The Outdoor Scouting Course is a busy weekend residential course during which we tackle four modules and also give you the skills required to validate them with your Local Training Manager.

This course is a very practical weekend when you’ll deal with providing the “out” in Scouting – with whichever age group you are involved. (Beaver & Cub Leaders may stay indoors others camp), and many of the sessions will be outside. This course will also prepare you for your Nights Away Permit assessment if that is something you wish to pursue.

During this course you will cover the following modules:

    • Nights Away
    • Activities Outdoors
    • Practical Skills

We prefer you to attend this Course after completing Managing Your Section if possible in order to get the best out of your training but appreciate that is not always possible.

If you have any questions regarding this course, please talk with your Local Training Manager, Mentor or District Commissioner.

There is a maximum number of places on each course so please book as early as possible.

Details of all occurrences of this course can be found of on our training events page.

Once you have completed the booking form, please check that your Mentor (your Group Scout Leader or experienced Leader in your Group or District) is happy for you to attend the Course(s) and is aware that you have booked.

All adult training in Cumbria is free of charge, but please see the note on the booking form regarding cancellation.
